referral program

We love it when our current school families help us bring new families to St. Timothy School. For every new family you successfully refer, earn one month free tuition for one child. Click here for more details on our referral program.

Additional financial assistance is available.

At St. Timothy, we know both the great value of a Catholic education and the challenge that tuition can sometimes be. In this era of rising costs, our goal is to keep St. Timothy affordable for any family that is committed to a Catholic education for their children.

In addition to the parish tuition subsidy, families with demonstrated financial need are eligible to receive additional funds, available through the generosity of parish families dedicated to the value of a Catholic education at St. Timothy School. Contact principal George Mosholder for details ( or 614-451-0739).

Donors across the Diocese of Columbus have been generous in their gifts to tuition assistance funds. These funds are dispersed yearly to families with demonstrated financial need through a distribution process that takes into account family need, total number of children applying for aid, and total amount of funds available that year. Families must apply each year for tuition assistance. The deadline for Diocesan financial assistance for 2017/2018 has passed, but the application process is very similar from year to year.

To apply for the Diocese of Columbus Tuition Assistance Program:

  • You must be registered in one of the Diocesan schools by March 15.

  • The Diocese will only accept ONLINE APPLICATIONS (, the application must be submitted and verified by March 15 and supporting documentation must be postmarked by March 15. (Please file early in case additional documentation is requested by FACTS.)

  • Payment of the $30.00 application fee must accompany the application.

  • Only one application per family is required.

The EdChoice Scholarship Program provides up to 60,000 state-funded scholarships to students who attend low-performing public school buildings. The scholarship must be used to attend private schools that meet requirements for program participation. St. Timothy is an Ohio EdChoice participating provider. Q: whAT is an "ACTIVE" parish family?

A: The parish pays a portion of the tuition bill for each active parish family with children enrolled in our parish school.

Active parish families are defined as registered parish families who actively participate in the life of the parish by:

  • regularly attending Mass at St. Timothy Church and

  • being involved in the life of the parish through participation in activities and organizations of both the Parish and the school and

  • making regular, recordable contributions to the weekly offertory collection used to subsidize tuition at St. Timothy School.

Inactive families are defined as those who are not registered members of St. Timothy parish or who do not actively participate in parish life (through regular Mass attendance, parish involvement, and contributions to the weekly offertory collection).

St. Timothy Church uses funds from the weekly offertory collection to subsidize tuition. Active parish families benefit from a tuition subsidy in which the parish pays up to 51% of the actual cost of tuition - between $1,849 and $13,118 - for each active parish family.

Although many parishes in the area no longer subsidize tuition for their parish school, here at St. Timothy we believe it is the mutual responsibility of both parents and the parish to support our school,

The actual cost to the school to educate each child is exactly the same, whether they are active parishioners or not. The parish uses funds from the offertory collection to pay a portion of the bill for the children of active parish families, resulting in a reduced financial burden for the family.

The members of St. Timothy parish have always been generous in their support of our parish school, knowing that they are helping to form the children of the parish in the Catholic faith.

Q: Does St. Timothy offer additional support to families with multiple enrolled children?

At St. Timothy, we know both the great value of a Catholic education and the challenge that tuition can sometimes be. In this era of rising costs, our goal is to keep St. Timothy affordable for any family that is committed to a Catholic education for their children. Families with multiple children enrolled in Catholic schools make a significant commitment to Catholic education.

To ease the financial burden of and reward that commitment, the percentage of each active parish family's tuition bill paid by the parish increases with the number of children from that family enrolled at St. Timothy School.
