St. Timothy student wins Diocesan Music Scholarship

Isabel Koehler, daughter of Paul and Liz Koehler, has been awarded the 2016 Gertrude C. Kuehefuhs Music Scholarship by the Catholic Diocese of Columbus for exceptional accomplishment in choral music. Congratulations, Isabel!

This scholarship is made possible by a gift received from the estate of Gertrude Kuehefuhs, a long-time member of the St. Joseph Cathedral choir and teacher of music at the Ohio State University. One each of four scholarships is awarded in the category of either instrumental or choral music to a current eighth-grade student and current high school senior attending a Catholic school in the Diocese of Columbus.

Isabel is an eighth grade student at St. Timothy School, with plans to attend Bishop Watterson High School in the fall. Isabel is a soprano with the Capriccio Youth Choir in Columbus, and has twice earned a superior rating at the OMEA Solo & Ensemble competition. She enjoys participating in musical theater and serving as a cantor for both weekday and weekend Masses at St. Timothy Church.
